The Waterloo Spur Line Trail is a seldom-used stretch of railway running between Kitchener and Waterloo. The MHBPNA has long advocated for the construction of a multi-use pedestrian trail along the railway.
As with most neighbourhoods, there are always many different issues going on about which people in the community are concerned, wish to know more about, or would like to express an opinion about to the municipality. The MHBPNA strives to serve as the hub to coordinate these interchanges between the community and the City of Kitchener or Region of Waterloo, speaking at council meetings on important issues, staying informed on city planning and developments, and hearing concerns from the neighbourhood and taking them to the right people. Here you can keep abreast of news on current and emerging issues in the neighbourhood, as well as submit an issue to the MHBPNA.
The City of Kitchener, Engineering Division, is proceeding with the reconstruction of Stahl Avenue and Wilhelm Street from Duke Street to Weber Street. The work includes the replacement of the underground sanitary sewer, storm sewer and watermain,
As you are probably aware, the Margaret Avenue Bridge is under construction. Most of the delay has been due to the City deciding whether or not to build the bridge wide enough so as to accomodate a potential third rail line in the future.
